Cameron, Marianne
Marianne Cameron, 95, died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, attended by her children, after a brief illness.
She is survived by her sons, Paul, an architect in St. Louis, Mo., and Alan, a physician in Kenosha, Wis.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was married for 54 years to the late, Bo Cameron, longtime Jefferson teacher and wrestling coach.
Born in Shelbyville, Ind., she held degrees from MacMurray College and the Universities of Michigan and Maine, as well as study in France. She taught language arts in Cedar Rapids schools. Upon retirement, she and Bo traveled widely including partaking in numerous elder hostels. She was very active in Peoples Church and many public causes, including League of Women Voters. She was particularly proud of her contributions along with her husband in establishing the Cedar Valley Nature Trail.
