Cameron, John 'Jack' M.
John “Jack” M.Cameron, 96, formerly of Lyndhurst, Ohio, and Iowa City, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Solon Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kirtland Ward, Willoughby, Ohio. Burial will be at Kirtland North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Jack was born on Jan. 23, 1913, in Brewer, Miss., to Julian and Ada (Campbell) Cameron. He was raised in Meridian, Miss., and married Shirley Ramsey in 1940. She was his constant companion for 54 years, until her death in 1994. He was a baker for most of his life and owned Cameron's Bakery for 20 years before retiring in 1993. He was an active member of the Mormon church.
Jack is survived by his two sons, Terry (Camilla) of Concord, Ohio, and John C. of Iowa City; his ex-daughter-in-law, Sandra Cameron Shope of Arizona; three grandchildren, John M., David and Vicki Eging (Rick), all of Ohio; and his four great-grandsons, George, Shawn, Caleb and Jesse Eging.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Roger and Algernon; and a stepson, William Boling.
