Cahill, Rose Marie
Rose Marie Cahill died peacefully Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.
Rose was born to William and T. Wilma Jones Cahill. She was a 1964 Regina High School graduate. For over 20 years Rose was employed at ACT as an administrative assistant.
Rose was an avid Hawkeye fan. Most important was her family, especially the time spent with her nieces and nephews, and Sunday morning family breakfasts.
Survivors include five siblings, Mary Ellen (Dean) Steckly of Kalona, Patricia (Robert) Christensen of Carroll and John (Nancy) Cahill, Elyse (Erv) Lewis and James (Louie) Cahill, all of Iowa City; sister-in-law, Peg Cahill of Iowa City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and David (Tuck); and her niece, Patricia Cahill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
