Butterbrodt, Velma Pauline (Hein)
UPDATED ONLINE ONLY: Funeral services for Velma Pauline (Hein) Butterbrodt, 99, Tipton, who died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Prairie Hills, Tipton, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at First United Church of Christ, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Clarence.

Velma was born Sept. 3, 1911, in Lowden, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ferdinand “Fordy” Henry and Wilhelmina “Minnie” Louise Meier Hein. Velma was a 1929 graduate of Clarence High School. She married William Henry Butterbrodt on March 8, 1931, at the St. John's Evangelical Parsonage, Clarence.
Velma was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Tipton, W.O.T.M., South Prairie Aide, Martha‘s Circle and the Tipton Women's Club. She was a homemaker and farmer's wife. She was employed at the Maid-Rite, Gambles and Mode-O-Day.
Velma is survived by her daughter, Jeneane (James Wm.) Stiff of Tipton; sons, Robert (Elaine) Butterbrodt of Clarence, and William Jr. (Sandra) Butterbrodt of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 18, 2002; granddaughter, Lynn Fraker; grandson, Ross Butterbrodt; brother, Marvin Hein; and sisters, Leone Burmeister and Eleanor Kruckenberg.
