Butterbaugh, Geraldine E.
CORALVILLE - Geraldine E. Butterbaugh, 94, formerly of 1799 Fifth St., Coralville, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Hawthorne Place in Coralville. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. No visitation will take place. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, Geraldine requested that memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
Geraldine was born May 3, 1916, in Frytown, Johnson County, Iowa, the daughter of Aaron J. A.J.” and Della (Omsler) Butterbaugh. A lifelong Coralville resident, Geraldine worked for the University of Iowa for 20 years at Burge Hall in housekeeping, retiring in 1972. She had been a resident of Coralville since 1936.
She is survived by a sister, Wilda Shera of Iowa City; and many nieces and nephews, including Nancy Salisbury (Steve) of North Liberty and Chris Sowada (Patrick) of Clarksville, Tenn.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leslie and Leland; and a sister, Veda Miles.
