Bush, Karl
Karl was born July 14, 1943, in Munich, Germany. He graduated from Brooklyn, Guernsey and Malcolm (BGM) High School and served in the Army from 1962 to 1964 in Southeast Asia, where he earned the rank of Master Sergeant. He married Judith Schaefer on April 24, 1965, in Williamsburg. Karl retired in 2001 after 35 years with the Quaker Oats Co., where he was responsible for milling operations of Quaker's global operations including the Cedar Rapids plant. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Fairfax American Legion Pekomy Post 572, The Association of Operative Millers (AOM), Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.
Karl was an active participant in life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. Karl always found time for travel, playing a round of golf, hitting the slopes for snow skiing, fishing and boating, hunting with his Springer Spaniel companion Ginger, working in his yard and completing a new home improvement project. As an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan Karl was always ready to cheer the team on to victory.
