Burton H. Hornstein, 81, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Hillside Wesleyan Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be private.
Survivors include his brother, Eldon Hornstein; nieces, Vi (Bernie) Steine and Lynn (Dan) Davis of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Scott (Joyce) Hornstein of Huxley and Mick Hornstein of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Francis Riley; and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Burt was preceded in death by his siblings, John Hornstein (wife, Jan), Viola Riley and Leola Thibadeau; and nephews, Steve Hornstein and Johnny Riley.
Burt was born to Mirl and John Hornstein on Feb. 16, 1935, in Iowa City. He served our country in the Army and worked as an electrician for the IBEW 405, until he retired. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going out to eat, being a member of the Shepherds and worshipping his Savior!
