BURTON BUSHNELL

Burton L. Bushnell, DVM, 87, of Manchester, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, at home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 3, by the Rev. Randy Pospisil and the Rev. Chris Henkaline at the Cornerstone Community Church, Manchester. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Manchester. Additional visitation one hour before services Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Burt was born Nov. 9, 1926, in Oneida, the son of Loren and LuLu (Ross) Bushnell. He served with the United States Navy during World War II, completing his Veterinarian Medicine Degree from Iowa State University, following his service time. On March 21, 1951, Burt was united in marriage to Audrey LaVonne Zehr in Manchester. They were married for 63 years.
Burt worked in Manchester as a veterinarian for large animals for 42 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Living Hope Church and the Lion Club. He was an active member in his church. He enjoyed playing golf and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Burt is survived by his wife, Audrey of Manchester; three children, Dru Bushnell, Cyd Budish and Bret Bushnell; five grandchildren, Dave and Mark Bushnell, Amy (Brian) Wrobel, Nathan (Danielle) Budish and Jason (Kaitlin) Budish; three great-grandchildren, Finn Wrobel, Reese Wrobel and Burke Wrobel; and one sister, Bernita Grimm of Manchester.
Burt was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and LuLu Bushnell; and his son-in-law, Brian Budish.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cornerstone Children's Ministry, 18141 222nd St., Manchester, in memory of Burton.
