Burrows, Jimmy Wayne

Jimmy Wayne Burrows, 52, of Central City, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha. Celebration of Life Open House: 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the American Legion in Central City.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Karen of Central City; children, Laura Burrows of Oklahoma City and Joshua Burrows of Des Moines; his father, J.W. Burrows of Sun City West, Ariz.; and two brothers, John Burrows of Aurora, Ill., and Randy Burrows of Ada, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Jimmy was born May 12, 1961, in Peoria, Ill., the son of J.W. and Janet (Mills) Burrows. On Oct. 2, 1982, he was united in marriage to Karen McAlister in Elmwood, Ill. Jimmy earned his master's degree in business administration from St. Ambrose University and was a Quality Assurance engineer for Rockwell Collins.

Jimmy enjoyed golfing and camping, Iowa Women's basketball, the St. Louis Cardinals, and fishing trips in Minnesota.
