Burr, Eileen
Eileen Burr, 75, passed, surrounded by her family at home, on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids by Father Dennis Juhl. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, where a vigil will begin at 5 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., and one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of 58 years; three daughters, Kathy Johnston, Karleen (Sam) Steichen and Khris Burr; a son, Kenneth (Denice); 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Kathryn Bracy; two brothers, Richard and David Bracy; a sister, Esther Ferrick; and her most beloved dog, Buddy.
With her husband Ken, Eileen enjoyed camping with family and friends and especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren. Together, they also enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars and NASCAR racing. In her spare time she loved to crochet blankets and cross stitch baby quilts for her family.
She retired from Rockwell in 1992 and looked forward to monthly gatherings with other retiree friends.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Eileen.
