Bud Slife, 75, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at ProMedica. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Bud was born Sept. 1, 1947, in Independence, the son of Ray and Bernice (Smith) Slife Sr. He graduated from Independence High School. Bud served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Josephine Reedy on July 11, 1970.
Bud is survived by his daughters, Pam Schafhausen of Rochester, Minn., and Michelle “Micki” (Mike) Folkers of Walker; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Alexis, Carter, Brydon and Moya; one great-grandson, Kjaerli; his sister, Mary Fowlkes of Lancaster, Wyo.; as well as many close nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dewayne Slife.
