Bucklin, Timothy L. (Buck)
Timothy L. (Buck) Bucklin, 62, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013. at St. Anthony's Hospice House in St Louis, Mo., after a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of life and potluck dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, in the Hickory Room at Lowe Park, 4500 10th St., Marion. All family and friends are invited. Bring a dish to share if you wish. A private family burial will take place Monday at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include his son, David; daughter-in-law, Sue (Hoffman) Bucklin; grandson. Andrew, all of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Bob (Wendy) of Marion; sisters-in-law, Renee Bucklin and Jackie Bucklin of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Bernie Conger of Ely; and special friend, Barbara Shaw of Overland Park, Kan.; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mary (Dwyer) Bucklin; sister, Mary Conger; and brothers, Michael Bucklin and William Bucklin.
Buck proudly served our country and retired from the United States Air Force as a master sergeant after 24 years of service. He then worked an additional 12 years for the U.S. Government in England before moving to the Kansas City area to be with his family in 2008. He recently retired from the position of bar manager at the American Legion Post #370 in Overland Park, where he had many friends and will be greatly missed.
The family suggests contributions to the Legion Post #370 in Overland Park, in lieu of flowers.
