Bucklin, Michael
Michael Bucklin, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 15, 2011, in St. Luke's Hospital. Services: noon Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Tim Dyck will officiate.
Survivors include his wife, Renee; a daughter, Kristi McNully of Cedar Rapids; a son, Gary M. Bucklin of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Tim L. Bucklin of Overland, Kan., and Robert J. Bucklin (Wendy) of Marion; a brother-in-law, Bud (Bobbe) Wagner of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kyle Bucklin of Phoenix, Hayley Bucklin of Pahoa, Hawaii and Lauren Brunson of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Bucklin; and a sister, Mary Conger.
Michael was born May 28, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Francis and Mary (Dwyer) Bucklin. He married Renee S. Wagner on April 23, 1960, in Cedar Rapids. Michael was in sales in the floor covering industry.
He was a member of Sertoma and Christ Church Presbyterian, where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed golf and coached many sports when they lived in Phoenix. Later they moved back to Cedar Rapids.
