Marilyn M. Bstandig, 81, of the Coralville/Iowa City area died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Mercy Iowa City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Iowa City, with the Rev. Richard Beyer officiating. There will be a period of visitation 3o minutes before services at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, Neb.

Marilyn Maude Bstandig was born June 28, 1930, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Frank and Susan (Klein) Bstandig. Following graduation from high school in Lincoln, she attended and graduated from Lincoln General School of Nursing. She then went on to receive her Master's in Nursing from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. For many years she practiced in the field of nursing in Lincoln. She moved to the Iowa City/Coralville area over 25 years ago. While living in Lincoln she was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and since moving to Iowa City she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Her family includes nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Peter and Paul Bstandig; and sisters, Ruth Rekstraw and Thelma Wing.
