Brunscheen, Eleanore L.
Eleanore L. Brunscheen, 90, of Wyoming, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
Eleanore Louise Herzberger was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Van Horne, Iowa, the daughter of George H. and Louise (Paulsen) Herzberger. On Oct. 10, 1938, she was united in marriage to Marvin H. Brunscheen in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death in May 1984. Eleanore was a homemaker and helped her husband with Marv's Plumbing & Heating.
She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church, Wyoming, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the church circle. She was also a member of Little Bear Country Club and Junior Women's organization.
Eleanore is survived by her four children, Marilee McGovern of Bella Vista, Ark., the Rev. Julie (Bob) May of Marion, George (Scott) Brunscheen of Cedar Rapids and Ellen (Allen) Williams of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, and a granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Boy Scouts of America or Zion American Lutheran Church.
