Bruce Steffens, 66, of North Liberty, passed away on July 25, 2018, at Lantern Park Specialty Care in Coralville.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 5 p.m. at St. Silas Lutheran Church, 1295 Jordan St. No. 5, in North Liberty, with the Rev. Andrew Richard officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed toward the Steffens family in care of Melvin Steffens.
Bruce was born on Dec. 31, 1951, in Lowden, Iowa, son of Melvin and Jenny (Wooder) Steffens. He drove a big-rig semi for many years. Bruce loved spending time with his family and friends. Countless hours were spent playing cards and cribbage. He also enjoyed watching Westerns, especially those featuring John Wayne. He also was an avid wrestling and race-car fan.
Bruce is survived by his children, Melvin Steffens (Heidi) of North Liberty, Jennifer Steffens (Ryan Megeff) of Iowa City and Michael Stepanek of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Jake, Jordan and Jason; his siblings, Nancy Kroemer and Joe Steffens; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Jenny (Wooder) Steffens.
