Strawberry Point
Bruce Allen Hawkins, 63, of Strawberry Point, died Saturday, March 19, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at United Methodist Church, Strawberry Point. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of 40 years; a special friend, his dog, Diablo "Mr. D."; brother, Jerry (Ginny) of Strawberry Point; and sister, Linda Schmitt of Wadena.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kirk Hawkins, in 1993; a daughter, Dreama Standridge, in 2005; parents, Marge and Roy Hawkins; and brothers, Bert Hawkins and Duane Hawkins.
Bruce was in the Navy during the Vietnam conflict, having served in the Philippines.
