Broxey, Gayle E.
Gayle E. Broxey, 59, of Palo, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn, after a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the First Open Bible Church, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastors Dan and Amy Stanford. Family will meet with friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by: Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford of Palo; parents, Erwin and Alyce Mueller; children, Carolyn (Jeremy) of Cedar Rapids, James Broxey of Cedar Rapids and Adam Broxey of Palo; grandchildren, Isaiah, David and Carter; siblings, Sue (Kevin) Booth of Palo, Duane (Teresa) Mueller of Cedar Rapids and Ann (Al) Fowler of Bedminster, Pa.; sister-in-law, Nancy Lanning of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Denny Broxey of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law, Arlene Broxey; and nieces and nephews.
Gayle was born Aug. 25, 1953, in Fargo, N.D., daughter of Erwin and Alyce Mueller. She graduated from Jefferson High School. On April 28, 1973, she married Clifford Broxey Jr. at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Gayle worked at Hy-Vee for 27 years, and also three years at Trinity Lutheran School, as a lunch lady. She enjoyed spending time in the nursery at church. Gayle was a dear wife and a tremendous mother and grandmother.
Memorial may be directed to the nursery at the church.
