Brown, Ida L.
Ida L. Brown, 80, of 1503 Second Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, in her home. Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Donnita Payne-Hostetler. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Oakhill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughters, Renee Martenia of Grandview, Mo., Tamara Martenia of Cedar Rapids, Trisha (Danny) Oldes of Des Moines, and Ethel Brown of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and her life partner, Paul Meyer of Cedar Rapids.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Chata Martenia; son, Shaun Jackson; and sister, Doris Tucker.
Born Dec. 8, 1929, in Washington, Iowa, Ida was the daughter of Mabel (Biggs) Jackson. She was a retired executive chef.
Ida's joys were bingo, cooking and sharing food with the world, and truly loved her family, especially her Royal.
