Brown, Daniel Alexander
Daniel Alexander Brown of Mount Vernon, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 2, 2010, in the hundred year flash flood of Mill Creek in Nashville, Tenn. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Antioch Christian Church, Marion, with Pastor Brent Schulte officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon.
Roger and Joyce Brown welcomed their infant son home on August 12, 1991. He grew to be a creative, imaginative and individualist Christian young man and graduated from Springville High School in 2009. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his many friends around the campfires at the family farm. He was dedicated to his music and to helping others in any way he could including discussing his Christian spirituality with others. Following his dream to be a recording artist, Dan was attending the School of Audio Engineering Institute in Nashville.
He was a down to earth, likable young man who liked being out in the woods surrounded by God's nature. Dan was a focused young man who believed in thinking outside the box and going the extra mile. He loved to sit down with troubled people, trying to help them work through their problems and he hoped to work counseling into his music career. He believed in the mantra to “pay it forward” and woke up every morning wanting to make the world a better place. Dan's music often opened these doors for his ministry and leadership. He lived an honorable life and often said, “We should live so that we never have any regrets.”
Surviving Dan are his parents, Roger and Joyce of Mount Vernon; maternal grandparents, John and Ruth Urmie of Durant; six aunts; one uncle; numerous cousins; and many friends.
A memorial fund in Dan's honor has been established.
