Brost, Jean Ann
Jean Ann Brost, 47, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 31, 2011, at her home. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Jean was born August 2, 1963, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of David L. and Johanna (Kennedy) Brost. Jean was a registered nurse and took great pride in her profession. She was very caring and compassionate toward everyone she cared for. Jean had a love for animals and would take in strays into her own home. Jean was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Jean is survived by her son, Travis Bahassou and his father, Hatta of Cedar Rapids; her father, David L. (Micki) Brost of Cedar Rapids; brother, David L. (Shirley) Brost Jr. of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mary Jo Wahlert of Ankeny, and Trish (Loren) Mohr of Wyoming, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Craig, Ryan and Jenny Wahlert and Kari and Connor Brost; great-nieces, Madison, Daphna, Paisley and Ailey; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Johanna; and nephew, Austin.
A memorial fund has been established for her son, Travis at Guaranty Bank & Trust, 302 Third Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids.
