Broghammer, Robert W.
Robert W. Broghammer, 78, of Decorah, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at his daughter's home in Iowa City. Robert and Vivian are now reunited in heaven. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah, with the Rev. Phillip Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah, with a rosary recited at 5:45 p.m. Visitation also will be on Tuesday one hour before the service at the church.
Robert is survived by his three children, Annette Griffin of Iowa City, Bob (Jenny) Broghammer of Iowa City and Jolene Broghammer (Mike Whitehead) of Grimes; five grandchildren, Jimmie Griffin, Logan Broghammer, Katie Broghammer, Emily Broghammer and Lydia Whitehead; and his faithful companion, Scout, an English Springer Spaniel.
