Brockman, Patricia Marie
Patricia Marie Brockman, 46, died Aug. 21, 2009, in her home with her family after a struggle with pancreatic cancer. Pat was born Aug. 15, 1963, in St. Paul, Minn., the youngest of five girls. Pat graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in computer engineering in 1985. Upon graduation she moved to Garland, Texas and worked for Electrospace Systems in Richardson, Texas. She married in 1987 and from 1989 to present she devoted her life to her eight children.
She was a loving mother, a wonderful wife, and an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Parish. She was loved by all who knew her.
Pat was preceded in death by her father, Don Maas, of Cedar Rapids in 1996.
Pat is survived by her husband, Pierce Brockman, and their children, Jerad, Shana, Annie, Jacob, Joseph, Emma, John Paul and Kathryn, all of Garland, Texas. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia Maas of Cedar Rapids; her sisters, Kathy (Kim) Klotz of Seward, Neb., Karen (Kevin) Eichmann of Des Moines, Elizabeth (Rich) Lockhart of Iowa City and Margo Brockman of Omaha, Neb.; and her mother- and father in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Brockman of Nazareth, Texas. She is also survived by uncles, John (Edna) Brunkhorst, Joe (Ann) Brunkhorst, Philip (Ann) Brunkhorst, John (Alice) McFadden and Frank Maas; and aunts, Marlene Goetschel, Monica (Jim) Piersall and Murl Maas. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Her family would like to express their gratitude for all of the prayers and support they have received from so many people across the country over the past several months.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel in Garland, with a rosary to be held for Pat at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
