Britcher, Kory Lynn
Kory Lynn Britcher, 41, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010, surrounded by his loved ones. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Swisher American Legion. Casual attire is requested per Kory's wishes; photos and stories are welcome. There will be a private burial at a later date. Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family.
Kory Lynn Britcher was born May 28, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was employed by Southwestern Detention Services.
Kory loved fishing, hunting, camping and finding the perfect mushroom. He was known for his great sense of humor, quick wit, contagious laugh and wonderful cooking.
He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Zachary Britcher of Cedar Rapids; twin brother, Kirk of Stanwood; brothers, Scott of Mechanicsville and Brent (Julie) of Cedar Rapids; sister, Lorna of Mechanicsville; significant other, Rene Fekete, and her children, Michael and Stephanie; Dick Danly and his family; and numerous extended family and friends.
Kory was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores (Jean) Britcher; sister, Cheryl Britcher; and grandparents, Dale and Dolores Ehresman.
