Brisbin, Bruce William
Bruce William Brisbin, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 2, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Bruce was born March 21, 1958, in Kearney, Neb., the son of Harry E. Brisbin and Arliss Thompson. Bruce was a devoted father and pet lover. He was a retired laborer who spent his time raising kids and spoiling his dogs. He had nicknames “Papa Smurf” and the “Rabbit.” He liked to grill with friends and family and have coffee.
He will be missed always and never forgotten.
Bruce is survived by his children, Bruce Brisbin Jr., Brandon Haas, LadyAnn Peabody Heather Haas, Misty Brisbin, Jacob Brisbin, Tyler Brisbin and Miranda Schneider; many grandchildren; two sisters, Ann (Donnie) Lorenz and LeVetta Brisbin; brother, Harry Brisbin; and his four dogs.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; uncle, Otis; grandson, Jason Haas; and Princess Diana.
