BRIELLE THOMPSON
Cedar Rapids
Brielle Christina Thompson passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
Brielle was born the daughter of Alisha Lightner and Donald Thompson on April 25, 2001, in Cedar Rapids. Brielle's impact spread across both Kennedy and Xavier high schools, where she accumulated many dear friends. Her smile and sense of humor were magnetic. Her goofiness could make an awkward situation hilarious and a distressed person smile. She was an animal lover who could not leave a pet store without figuring out what she wanted next. Young children flocked to her and she had the ability to make every child feel special. She gave to everyone she loved, whether it be picking out the perfect Christmas gift or providing a listening ear and shoulder to cry on. Her impact on the lives she touched will carry on forever.
Brielle's beautiful and contagious smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Brielle is survived by her mother, Alisha Dzikonski and Craig Dzikonski; father, Donald Thompson; siblings, Quinn and Tate Dzikonski and Christopher, David and Raymen Thompson; uncle, Keenan (Erin) Lightner; cousin, Kaylee; grandmother, Christina Krumbholz (Stan Roush); grandfather, Mitch (Jan) Lightner; great- grandparents, Carol Hanson, Robert Lightner and Joan Lightner; along with numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, by the Rev. David Beckman. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A vigil service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established in Brielle's name.
Online condolences may be left for the family at www.teahenfuneralhome.com.
