Bridget Louise Garretson, 61, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on June 30, 2025, after a prolonged illness. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19 from 1-5 p.m. at 415 12th Ave. SE in Cedar Rapids.
Born June 8, 1964, in Ottumwa, she was the daughter of Craig and Lorna (Bates) Shoemaker. She was a 1982 graduate of Marion High School. Bridget married Kevin Garretson that same year; they later divorced.
Bridget was a devoted mother, dance mom, and grandmother. She cherished time with family, crafting, her cats—Little Bit, Max, and Sam—and pursuing her spiritual path. She worked at Spirit’s Journey, ReAlive, Bickford Cottage (with her mother), ASAC, and alongside Kevin in their photography business.
She is survived by her children: Dani (Jason) Showalter, Misty Voelker, Tiffany Garretson, Stormy (Gary Harvey) Garretson, and Nevada Garretson; her grandchildren: Lucas, Parker, Addy, Owen, Kinsley, Aiden, Finley, Murphy, Frankie, and Charlotte; as well as an uncle, cousins, a sister-in-law, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Shane. She will be greatly missed.
