Brick, Thomas Francis
Funeral services for Thomas Francis Brick, 101, of Tipton, who died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, will be held Monday, Aug. 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Thomas Francis Brick was born Aug. 13, 1910, in West Branch, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Catherine Seglar Brick. He attended Rose Hill School, Honey Grove School and Owl Point School, all in West Branch. On Feb. 16, 1938, Thomas was united in marriage to Doris E. Countryman in Iowa City. Doris died Oct. 23, 1980. On June 5, 1981, he married Lois Townson Williams in Tipton. Lois died Dec. 16, 1987.
Thomas was employed as a farmer and worked for Cedar County as a blade operator for 10 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a past member of the Moose Lodge.
Thomas is loved and survived by his daughter, Marlene Faye (Charles) Gann of Lamar, Okla.; sons, Marvin Wayne (Karen) Brick of West Branch and Marty Lynn Brick of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Darrall, Gerry, Lu, Tonya, Lisa, Stacy and Stephanie; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; brothers, Albert and John; and sisters, Gertrude, Agnes, Emma, Mayme, and Grace.
