Brian Bruce Pomeroy, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House following a long battle with COPD. Services: 5 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home by Penny Ackerman. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Brian is survived by his son, Brett (Amanda) Pomeroy of Marion; daughter, Brianne (Chad) Bakkum of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Riley, Kenzie and Theo Pomeroy, and Mila and Navy Bakkum; motherm Dorothy Pomeroy of Cedar Rapids; and sister, Ronda Pomeroy of Amarillo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce; brother, Harland; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Brian was born Dec. 3, 1957, in Watertown, S.D., the son of Bruce and Dorothy Thomas Pomeroy. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1976 and attended the University of Iowa. Brian worked as a fork lift operator for Worley Warehouse.
Brian enjoyed hunting with his dad, fishing, playing golf and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings. He treasured spending time with his grandchildren and loved snacking on Chick Fil A and M&Ms.
