Brian Lee Thomas, 46, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. A visitation will occur on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Brian was born on February 16, 1979, in Iowa City, Iowa, to David and Robbin (Huggins) Thomas. On February 19, 2002, he married Tracy Linn in Las Vegas, Nevada. He spent several years working as a chef at Granite City Brewery & Pub and was most recently employed by Emerald Green Lawn Care & Landscaping, Inc.
He loved spending his free time fishing and golfing, but his most cherished moments were those spent with family. His cats held a special place in his heart, and he adored them more than anything. A true chef, he took great pride in perfecting his steaks and other dishes. He also enjoyed attending concerts, with Slipknot being his favorite.
Left to cherish his memory include his children, Peyton Wilcox-Thomas (Ian Wirth), Zane Wilcox-Thomas; stepchildren, Kylie Wilcox, Bryce (Ashely) Wilcox, BreAnna Wilcox, Seth Haugsted, Isabella Haugsted; five grandchildren; mother, Robbin (Jon) Trimble; father, David (Tammy) Thomas; siblings, Candace (Eric) Thomas-Coon, Maria (Matthew) Taylor; close friend, Mark (Cindy) Mussman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Tracy Thomas; granddaughter, Lily Wilbanks; nephew, Oliver Coon; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be in care of Robbin Trimble.
