Brian Lee Stutzman, 44,

of Palo, died Sunday at his home.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Catholic Church by the Revs. Steve Garner and Dustin Vu. Burial: Palo Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from

2 to 8 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be held at 8 p.m.

Brian is survived by his wife, Renee; his children, Margaret, Brenlyn, Conway and Cael; parents, Bev and Gary Stutzman of Wayland; a brother, Greg Stutzman of Milan, Ill.; a sister, Kimberly (Terry) Vaughn of Mount Vernon; brothers-in-law, Shaun Conway of Washington, D.C., and Dominique Conway of Iowa City; sister-in-law, Shavonda Conway of Cedar Rapids; in-laws, Susan and Larry Conway of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, May and Robert Bourn and Maggie and Delmar Stutzman; and brother-in-law, Brent Conway.

Brian was born July 28, 1973, in Julesburg, Colo., the son of Gary Lee and Bev Bourn Stutzman. He graduated from Waco High School, Wayland, in 1991 and Coe College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. He married Margaret Renee Conway on Aug. 19, 1995, in Marion. Brian was the executive director of the Young Parents Network (YPN) since 2000. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

Brian enjoyed farming, mowing the fields, hunting, driving around on his skid loader and in his truck listening to music, doing many activities with his children, such as driving four-wheelers, shooting trap, playing golf and football. He was a very hardworking, caring and compassionate man who will be remembered for making the best chili and mashed potatoes and for telling wonderful stories.
