Brian Joseph McGregor, 44, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Davenport, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 28, 2023, surrounded by family.
Brian is survived by his children, Kassi and Daniel McGregor of Oregon and Lilliana McGregor, Cedar Rapids; brothers, Cory (Taryn) McGregor, Moline, Ill., and Drew (Ali) George, Durant, Iowa; sisters, Leslie (Bryan) Paulsen-George, Durant, Iowa and Alissa (Kyle) Costello, New Liberty, Iowa; parents, Ann McGregor, Springville, Iowa, and Tom (Kim) George, Durant, Iowa; paternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joyce and Pete McGregor, and great-grandparents.
Brian spent most of his working life in the carpentry trade. His hobbies included hockey, board games, chess, drawing and painting. He also enjoyed watching Cubs baseball, Packers football, hockey and racing.
Brian was strong, creative, hard-working, and he loved with his whole heart. He was a talented artist and carpenter. He had a beautiful appreciation for music and he touched many hearts.
Brian also gave the gift of life to three people through organ donation.
Brian's family would like to offer special thanks to Meghan, Chandler, Dylan and the rest of the Iowa Donor Network team for their love, support and compassion throughout this journey. And, to the staff at University of Iowa Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Brian's name may be made to Iowa Donor Network.
