Brian Edward Ainesworth, 53, of Stokesdale, N.C., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, N.C., surrounded by his family and in the arms of his loving wife. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Carr officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Brian was born Aug. 10, 1968, the son of the late Billy Gene Ainesworth and Catherine Poston Ainesworth. In addition to his parents, a sister, Judi Parmer, preceded him in death.
Before moving to Stokesdale, Brian and family lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he was a regional manager for a recycling company. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed local racing in Iowa and at Bowman Grey Stadium, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church. On June 25, 1986, he married his high school sweetheart, Tracy Hewett. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Tracy H. Ainesworth of the home; sons, Curtiss (Mandy) Ainesworth, Christopher (Kelly) Ainesworth, all of Cedar Rapids, Cyle (Holly) Ainesworth of Reidsville and Chad (Emily) Ainesworth of Browns Summit; four grandchildren, Alyssa Ainesworth, Ethan Ainesworth, Gabriel Ainesworth and Mila Ainesworth; brothers, Dean Ainesworth (Wendy) and Bill Ainesworth; sister, Marla Gonzalez, all of Cedar Rapids; and his canine companion, Hurley. He lost his canine companion, Vegas, in September.
