Bret passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from a brain aneurysm. There was a private cremation and no service will be performed.
Bret was born December 12, 1969, to Rogette (Schwarz) Levesque and Richard Levesque in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Washington High School.
Bret worked at The Gazette for 25-plus years. His employment history included Per Mar Security Services, Whirlpool, Actually Clean and Farm Fleet.
Survivors include mother, Rogette Steele and stepdad, Jim Steele; sister, Traci Neff; niece, Zoe Neff; uncle, Charles Bret Schwarz; and father, Richard Levesque and stepmother, Bonni Levesque.
Bret was preceded in death by grandparents, Jeanette and Roger Schwarz; and Betty and Rene Levesque.
