Bressler, Whitner M. 'Jim'
Whitner M. “Jim” Bressler, 84, of 4425 Twin Pine Dr. NE, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial, with military rites: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include a son, Ron, and his wife, Lois, of Williamsburg; a brother, Arland; and two sisters, Madelon and Loretta. He is also survived by one grandson, Todd, and his wife, Michelle; a great-granddaughter, Chloe; special friends and neighbors, Robert and Phyllis Lange of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews, including Todd Evangelista.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Jim was born July 31, 1926, in Auburn, Pa., the son of Norman and Mary Bressler. He was the owner and operator of Triple A Windows in Cedar Rapids for many years. He proudly served in the Navy and was an excellent cook who often shared his delicious foods with family and friends.
Memorial donations may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Jim's name.
