Carol was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Knoxville, the oldest child of George and Doris Nicholson Israel and stepmother, Pearl “Copper” Israel. Carol worked in the family restaurant and growing up she cared for her younger siblings. She married Dale on Aug. 11, 1956, in Newton and later settled in Lisbon, where they raised their family.
She was a loving wife and devoted mother.
