Brenda Ann Ramsey, 42, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday morning, July 9, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. A celebration of Brenda's life will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be at a later date in Phelps Cemetery, Decorah.
Brenda is survived by her parents, Thomas and Shirley (Frey) Ramsey, Cedar Rapids; sister, Debbie Smith and husband Rodney, Anamosa; nieces and nephew, Larissa, Gabrielle and Bradley Henecke and Nicole, Becca and Leah Smith; and Brenda's "puppy boy," Romeo.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Norman and Susie Ramsey and Lester and Madeline Frey.
Brenda was born Feb. 7, 1973, in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1991 and later the American College of Hairstyling. Brenda was a self-employed barber at Village Hair Design in the Czech Village.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going motorcycle riding and camping.
