Brenda K. Esbaum, 80, of Lowden, passed away on Oct. 11, 2022, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden, with Pastor Susan Schneider-Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Brenda was born on Feb. 2, 1942, to Lawrence and Velma (Schluter) Kreinbring (Kayo and Tootie) in Cedar Rapids. She married Larry Esbaum on March 7, 1964, in Rock Island, Ill. He passed away on July 20, 1999.
Brenda was a CNA at the Clarence Nursing Home for 38 years. She enjoyed reading, walking and spending time with her family. Brenda was also a big Chicago Cubs fan and was a member of Zion UCC in Lowden.
She is survived by her son, Kip (Sandy) of Lowden; grandchildren, Laettner, Elle and Pavin Esbaum, Laci (Brent) Van Dorn and Madison Gritton; great-grandchildren, Violet, Emmi and Kylee Van Dorn; son-in-law, Larry Havel of Clarence; brothers, Brent (Deb) Kreinbring of Lowden and Bevan (Maureen) of Clinton, Wis.; sister, Belva Kreinbring of Lowden; and special friend, Sharon Kruckenberg.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Logan Esbaum, in infancy; daughter, Kerri Havel; and brother, Blaine Kreinbring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Lowden Library or Lowden Fire & Rescue.
