Bredlau, Greg
Greg Bredlau, 55, of 1209 Edingale Dr., Iowa City, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at home from cancer. His family will greet friends Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. A private memorial service and burial will take place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice, The Ronald McDonald House or the Hope Lodge.
Greg was born Dec. 11, 1953, in Loyal, Wis., the son of Robert and Marcella (Oehler) Bredlau. Raised in Owen, Greg received his degree in biomedical engineering from La Crosse Technical Institute. He married his high school sweetheart, Gayle Frederickson, on Aug. 27, 1978, in Owen, Wis. The couple moved to Iowa City in 1974 where Greg worked as a biomedical engineer with the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics for 35 years. Greg and his wife were also members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle; daughter, Bryanna Bredlau, and her daughter, Ella, of North Liberty; son, Ryan Bredlau (Maggie), and their daughter, Lillyan, of St. Charles, Mo.; son, Kent Bredlau (Samantha) of Iowa City;
his parents, Bob and Marcie Bredlau of Owen, Wis.; siblings, Dennis Bredlau of Owen, Wis., Brian Bredlau (Debbie) and their children, Megan, Brittany and Brandon of Owen, Wis., and Jan Willems (Jack) and their children, Sam and Connor of Reedsville, Wis.; his mother-in-law, Theone Frederickson of Owen; and the rest of Gayle's family.
