Brecht, Clarence David
Clarence David Brecht, 81, of Marengo, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his home. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown, with military honors. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 16, at the funeral home.
Clarence is survived by his children, Debra Hadenfeldt (John Scott) of Coralville and Dexter Brecht of Hudson, Fla.; two grandchildren, Michael Hadenfeldt (Amanda) and Jennifer Hadenfeldt (Tim Ulferts), both of Cedar Rapids; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Karen Shafer of Des Moines; two special nephews, Rick Klever (Brandy), and Terry Brecht, both of Marengo; a special friend, Geneva Robinson; Charlotte Brecht, and several extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Clarence David; and two brothers, Andrew Brecht and Leroy Brecht.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
