Brawner, Suzanne Lindsey
Suzanne Lindsey Brawner, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in her home following a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Teahen Funeral Home by the Rev. Jonathon Harnish. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will be held today at the funeral home, where friends may visit from 4 until 8 p.m. Friends may also visit Saturday after 9 a.m. until the time of service.
She is survived by three children, Steve (Linda) Lindsey, Theresa (James) Kvidahl and Scott (Julie) Lindsey, all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren: two great-grandchildren; half brothers, Mike and Pat; and lifelong best friend, Char Cordes.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; two sons, David and John; and her parents.
Suzanne was born Jan. 14, 1939, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Frank and Wanda Baird. She attended Washington High School in Vinton and was a member of the class of 1956. She married William Lindsey and they later divorced. Suzanne then married C. Joseph Brawner on March 8, 1982, in Las Vegas. She worked at Rapids Chevrolet for many years as a cashier.
Suzanne was a strong and quiet woman, continually fascinated by the patterns and ironies of life. She was delighted in discussing her observations with her beloved family and close friends. Her patience will be missed in this impatient world.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
