Braumann, Evron L. 'Bob'
Evron L. “Bob” Braumann, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, August 17, 2009, at the VA Medical Center, Des Moines. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Grove Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
Survivors include four sons, Robert (Debbie), of Cedar Rapids, David (Cindy), of Prairie du Sac, Wis., Randy (Becky), of Cedar Rapids, and John (Michelle), of Marion; two daughters, Barb (Jeff) Adkins, of Spencer, Ind., and Karen (Scott) Brenneman, of Cedar Rapids; fifteen grandchildren, Aaron, Kari, Ryan, Brieanna, Jason, Mary, Kelli, Jeff, Noah, Zoe, Trent, Derek, Dustin, Greg and Grant; and one great granddaughter, Haley.
Evron was born August 11, 1925, in Thor, the son of Floyd and Nancy (Hanson) Braumann. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School and Eagle Grove Community College and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Evron married Mary Fibikar in 1949 in Eagle Grove. He worked as an industrial engineer for many years at various companies. After retirement, he worked part-time for Qualex, The Gazette, and Hertz.
He was an avid golfer and bowler who enjoyed eating out at restaurants and following the Iowa Hawkeyes. Evron was a great family man who dearly loved his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Herschel; and three sisters, Florene Thorn, Eleanor “Dolly” Rogers, and Maybelle Pringle.
