Brannaman, M. Ellen
M. Ellen Brannaman, 91, a long time resident of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 4, 2010, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 7, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Roseann Wiley. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Urbana Cemetery, Urbana.
Survivors include her children, Larry and Dianne Brannaman, Gretchen and Mike Sullivan and Bev and Dave Gearhart, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren and spouses, Bob and Michelle Brannaman, Brian and Jordan Brannaman, Jennifer and Joel Nizolek, Tracy and Zach Sweet, Doug and Paula Sullivan, Lisa Sullivan and Jack Maher, Becky and Mike Myers, Tom and Sherry Sullivan, Mandy and Rod Manson, Christina and Chad Graham and Jolene and Ryan Norton; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Dr. Robert Holloway of St. Paul, Minn.; and sister, Ann Huxol of Edina, Minn.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; and Bud, her high school sweetheart and husband of 55 years.
Born Jan. 2, 1919, in Center Point, Iowa, Ellen was the daughter of John and Mabel (Condon) Holloway. On Dec. 31, 1938, Ellen was united in marriage to Mervin “Bud” Brannaman. He died Feb. 14, 1994.
Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a long time member of Olivet Presbyterian Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Ellen's memory to Hospice of Mercy.
