Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Midwest Garden of Memories, Waterloo.
Anna was born on May 2, 1923, to Henry and Mae Jurgens in Albion. She married Richard Jurrens in 1941. He preceded her in death while serving our country during World War II. She later married Alrich "Al" Brandt. They spent 57 years together in Waterloo. Alrich passed away in 2004. Ann was also preceded in death by a dear grandson, Todd Knappe, in 2005.
Anna is survived by her son, Richard (Joy) Jurrens of Quincy, Ill.; two daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Knappe of Castle Rock, Colo., and Jane (Perry) Schoff of Cedar Rapids; a stepson, Jerry (Lilly) Brandt of Pittston, Maine; grandchildren, Andrea (David) Gordon, Tricia Knappe, Tony (Tricia) Hocamp, Talisha (Mike) Davis, Isaac Schoff and his fiancé Jana Sodawasser, Erika Jurrens and her fiancé Adam Hutchison, Erin (Mitch) Sudkamp; stepgrandchildren, Kevin and Bobby Brandt; and nine great-grandchildren.
Anna greatly enjoyed her family and friends. She also enjoyed camping, square dancing, gardening, and her friends she made while working at Hinsons, Milroy's, and FW Means in Waterloo. With loving hands, Anna made many special afghans for anyone who asked.
Anna attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Evansdale, where she was always willing to serve wherever she could until 2004, when she moved to Cedar Rapids to be near daughter Jane. Anna will always be remembered for the unconditional love she had for her family, her sense of humor, and her wonderful smile. She would help anyone at any time and will be missed deeply by all who loved and knew her.
In lieu of flowers please make a memorial in her name to Hospice of Mercy, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Evansdale, or Maranatha Bible Church in Cedar Rapids.
The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice of Mercy and the staff at ManorCare for tenderly caring for Anna this past year.
