Marian E. McKeever was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of John A. and Clara (Martin) McKeever. She attended schools in Monticello, graduating with the class of 1941 from Sacred Heart School. On Feb. 2, 1943, she married William J. Bragg in Iowa City. The couple had lived all their married lives in Iowa City. For many years she was employed at Moore Business Forms in Iowa City. She left them and worked a number of years for the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, she enjoyed bowling, watching and listening to any sports on the TV or radio, but always an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She would spend hours looking out the windows watching the birds and squirrels - Mother Nature at its finest. She always had dogs and cats, but most of all the love she had for her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandchildren was priceless.
Her family includes her son, Gene Bragg (Jane); her daughter, Sheila Farmer (Bill), all of Iowa City; granddaughter, Shawn Reynolds (Chris) of Lone Tree; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Makenzie Reynolds; and her brother, John McKeever (Mary) of Thurmont, Md.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Mary Jean McKeever Holstrom; and a brother, Francis McKeever.
Marian's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Neiman and his staff at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, as well as the staff at Windmill Manor for their care and compassion for Marian.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Marian's family and her services.
