Brady, James A.
James A. Brady, a proud veteran of World War II, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Per Jim's wishes, he was cremated and there will be no funeral services. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bernita; son, Douglas; foster sister, Goldie Hilsenbeck of Greeley; two grandsons, Christopher and Joshua Hopkins; and son-in-law, Patrick Hopkins of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Renee Hopkins in 2004; his parents, Abe and Mona Brady; brothers, Cecil and Clair; and sister, Alice Fry.
Jim was born Sept. 6, 1922, in rural Greeley. He served his country honorably as an Army combat medic with the 103rd Infantry Division in the European theatre during World War II. He was employed by Western Weighing and Inspection Bureau for 30 years. He was an active member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church for many years (known today as Echo Hill Presbyterian Church).
Memorial donations in Jim's honor may be made to the Echo Hill Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
