Bradley "Brad" Alan Van Dee, 43, of Marion, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by his mother and son. God took him away to be with his father and older brother, Daniel Alan. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial gathering celebrating Brad's life will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion, with the Rev. Greg Williamson and the Rev. David Renfro officiating.
Brad was born the son of Edward G. and Wanda L. (Collett) Van Dee on Oct. 14, 1972, in Cedar Rapids. He was employed as a claims specialist with Toyota Financial for nearly 17 years.
Survivors include his mother, Wanda Van Dee of Marion; a son, who was his main joy and pride, Jaden Daniel Van Dee of Marion; maternal grandmother, Sarah Collett of Wellman; and a special friend, Dan O'Neill.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Jaden's college.
