Bradley Vernon Haman was born Dec. 22, 1981, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the son of Steven J. and Diana L. (Allen) Haman. He attended Mid-Prairie Schools, graduating with the class of 2000. During school he played baseball, football and basketball. He was active in FFA and 4-H, showing shorthorn cattle. Following high school, Brad worked for Stutsman's in Hills before joining his family in their business, Steve's Farm Supply, in 2004. On Sept. 10, 2002, he was united in marriage to Heather Duwa in a beautiful ceremony in the backyard of his parents' home outside of Frytown.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling and just hanging out on the farm! Nothing brought him greater joy than his two children, Blake and Auna; and his dogs, Harley, Roxy and Piper. He loved to drive his truck around with his sidekick Piper (Snot, as he called her) sitting in the passenger seat. He was instilling in Blake and Auna the importance of family and friends, and in his words, "One Life. One Ride. Enjoy it while you can."
Brad was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside.
His family includes his wife, Heather (Duwa) Haman; their two children, Blake and Auna; parents, Steve and Diana Haman; brother, Matthew Haman (Tiffany); sister, Tammy Marek (Cody); seven nieces and nephews, Johnathon (John Boy), Abby, Jenny, Will, Maddie, Adlei and Kassidi; grandmother, Neva Haman; grandfather, Pierson "Tinker" Benedict; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; his in-laws, Tina and Randy Klein, Mitch Duwa, Chad Klein, Dan Klein (Rachel); and nephew, Solomon.
Brad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon Haman (whom he was named after), Warren Allen and Evelyn L. (Allen) Benedict; aunt, Patricia Haman; uncles, Richard and Gene Allen; cousin, Joel Allen; and father-in-law, Kenny (Cap) Duwa.
He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend and will be greatly missed.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Brad's family and his services.
