Brad Spinler, 61, of Central City, Iowa, formerly of Deltona, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit within St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Private
family graveside services will be held at Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City, conducted by Pastor Darin Whiting. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Brad was born on Sept. 12, 1957, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Melvin and Shirley (Biederman) Spinler. Brad was employed by Comprehensive Energy Services as a chiller mechanic/technician and was a specialist in his field. He loved to watch John Wayne movies and enjoy an ice-cold bottle of Bud Light. Brad loved to ride his Harleys, had a huge personality and you knew when he walked into the room, you might even hear him first. He could capture everyone's attention with his great storytelling ability. Brad's greatest passion in life was spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Scott (Kenzie) Spinler of West Branch; grandchildren, Finn and Sawyer; mother, Shirley Spinler of Marion; sister, Brenda (Chris) Schmid of Central City; nieces and nephews, Linsey (Landon) Merkle of Center Point and their children, Brennen and Zoey, Dylan (Miranda) Schmid of Atkins and their children, Keaton and Tanner, and Austin (Jackie) Schmid of Central City and their daughter, Audrey; and many "brothers" and close friends in Florida.
Brad was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Spinler; son, Sam Spinler; and nephew, Trent Schmid.
