He attended Jefferson High School and later became a truck driver, most recently working as a delivery sales driver for Anderson Erickson Dairy. He met Billie Hughes by chance in an elevator at Mount Mercy University, walked her to her car, and asked for a date. She obliged, and they were married Sept. 8, 2000, in Cedar Rapids. Brad "Donut" and Billie "Muffin" renewed their vows on May 26 of this year at St. Matthew Catholic Church, where they had become members several years earlier. Brad enjoyed golfing, racing, bowling and gambling. He belonged to the PGA, Hawkeye Downs Hornets, and local golf and car clubs. He like to drive his boys around in his restored 1955 Buick Century and travel, especially to the ocean and Grand Canyon. Brad treasured the time spent with his beloved family, telling stories and messing with everyone around the family fire pit. He had a unique sense of humor, was the kindest person, and will be sincerely missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, including Richard Burhite and Delores Briner; stepmother, Ellen; uncles, Skip and Gus; and dogs, Rocky and Abbey.
